Hi I've had an email this morning from my friends in Aesclik about a show they are putting on this weekend, so if your near Barcelona I hope you will visit for a great day out.

Playmobil Fair in Barcelona
Every year Aesclick organizes a Playmobil fair in Spain. The 10th edition is going to be celebrated at the community center "Cotxeres de Sants" in Barcelona on next weekend, 11th and 12th of February. There you will find several dioramas representing different scenes such as the life during the Stone Age, the medieval villages, the Victorian Age, and the modern cities. But, what is more, there will be different activities for the child where they can win a lot of prizes, and there will be also stands where you will find a lot of Playmobil sets, figures and accessories to buy in order to complete your collection.

Remember, 11th and 12th of February in Barcelona. Come and have fun!

-Por tercer año consecutivo y de la mano de Aesclick tendrá lugar en Barcelona, los días 11 y 12 de febrero, uno de los principales eventos a nivel nacional para todos aquellos amantes y coleccionistas de Playmobil.

-Aquellos que se animen a asistir encontrarán en esta 10ª Feria Nacional una amplia variedad de dioramas sobre diferentes temáticas donde el elemento fundamental son las figuras y accesorios de esta conocida marca de juguetes. Como todos los años también se podrá disfrutarar de concursos, actividades, juegos, muchos premios y se podrán adquirir infinidad de piezas y sets, tanto actuales como de coleccionista, en puestos de venta nacionales e internacionales.

Los días 11 y 12 de febrero de 2012 Aesclick celebrará en Barcelona la 10ª edición de la Feria Nacional de Coleccionistas de Playmobil, cita indispensable para todos aquellos, mayores y niños, que disfrutan de las innumerables series de figuras que esta incombustible marca de juguetes sigue poniendo a nuestra disposición. En el centro cívico de Cotxeres de Sants, se expondrán 18 dioramas con escenas tan diversas como la época medieval, el momento álgido de la época victoriana, la nueva serie de cavernícolas, el mundo de la granja, hadas, maquetas de trenes, 20º aniversario de Barcelona '92, e incluso dioramas con contenidos multimedia.

Además, durante la propia feria, Aesclick organizará numerosas actividades y concursos, donde los más pequeños y los que no lo son tanto podrán poner a prueba sus conocimientos y aptitudes para “jugar” con los clicks, a la vez que reciben grandes premios por su buen hacer.

Finalmente, y como no puede ser de otra manera, estará habilitada una parte del recinto para puestos de venta de tiendas especializadas, nacionales e internacionales, en piezas, figuras, sets descatalogados y de las series más recientes de todas las colecciones que Playmobil ha ido sacando al mercado, muchas de ellas ya no disponibles en tiendas y fundamentales para cualquier colección.

El acceso a la feria es gratuito para los menores de 12 años, y con un donativo de 3€ para los mayores, cantidad que será destinada a una de las principales actividades de Aesclick, la compra de regalos para los niños más desfavorecidos durante la época navideña.

It's all sorted now ( well I hope so!) so please be patient with me and I'll try to get in touch with every one over the next few days.

Pharmacy Almost Finished

Well I've been cracking on this weekend and managed to get a fair bit done including almost finishing the pharmacies. I hope to have them both finished by the end of the week, so for now here's a few photos of the interior to keep you all going.

New Victorians for Spring

For new visitors who might not have seen my couples before I thought I'd mention a few things. I usually do about 4 sets of mixed Victorian figures a year. Each one is hand painted in enamels and then further decorated with a variety of accessories, ribbons, gems, real miniature hats, bows, feathers lace etc.

As you can see from the close ups above, the ladies often have broaches or necklaces and tiny buttons, while the gentlemen have watch chains and buttons, just to add a little bit of detail to each figure.
As usual these figures are available to buy on a first come first served basis. I can sometimes do repeats of certain figures depending on what I have available, but I can not guarantee this. At the moment I am very busy with other work so there will be no repeats at the present time. My next lot of figures will be in late spring - April / May.

Happy New Year to all my Chinese visitors I hope the year of the Dragon brings you happiness and prosperity.

Sorry to all my visitors there was no update last week I've been nonstop working for the last two weeks but I do have some updates on current projects. Not only have I been working on the Playmobil but I've managed to extend my garden and I've spent some spare time planting new hedges and creating a border etc. So come spring and the better weather I'll be spending more time outdoors trying to work on my new garden! I'm hoping to have a G scale Playmobil train layout there some time later this year. Yeah Steaming Mary!

I've managed on make a good start on a huge project, Mary, Maria and Mike I have pictures for you. This will keep me busy for the next couple of months, but I have done some work I can share at the moment. If you read my last post you'll know I'm also working on a new set of Victorian Shops, Chocolate, Pharmacy, Jewellers, Wine Merchants. I've painted the buildings and I'm now starting on the decorations.

I did wonder if I should do a Victorian pet shop? Maybe it needs to be bigger judging by this photo!

This is Taz, one of my two helpfull cats that delight in getting into everything.

These are the two chocolate shops and the first pharmacy above with wine merchents and jewellers below.

I've also completed my first set of Victorian figures for this year and I'll have photos later today to share with you all.

As usual the new year is a time to make plans for the future but first I thought I'd go back and see what I had planned for last year and if I managed it?

Tudor Manor Hall

I've built this once and had to pack it up for the space but I'm looking forward to putting it back up and making a start on the furniture and decorations. I'm planning on creating a separate page for this so you can all follow my work as it goes along.

Medieval Buildings

I've got several buildings already designed in my head and am looking forward to building these soon, including a church, pub, bridge house and watermill.

Medieval Market

Along the same lines as the large Victorian Market I made last year, complete with base and new customised figures.

Medieval Tournament

Including jousting, archery, lots of knights and tents and anything else that strikes my fancy

Gothic / Haunted Mansion

Well I can't say I did too well on that lot! I did manage the Tudor Hall, watermill and a tower. A few Victorian shops and started the haunted house. Oh well, best laid plans and all that!

So I'll try again for this year and see how I go. I have a lot of commissions to start off with so a lot of new work will have to wait till later in the year I think. Mmmmm....

Running the length of the building is a typical Victorian Street Market with variuos barrows and street hawkers. Tudor Hall

I have decided to part with my extremely large Tudor Hall. As you can see from the photos this is the biggest Tudor / Medieval house I have ever seen. This is the equivalent in size to over 16 of Playmobil's Tudor / Medieval houses. It's been built with many expensive and rare parts including the proper Playmobil Steck base. Furnished and decorated through out it also comes with a variety of figures.

I sometimes think I shouldn't mention my plans on my blog as things never work out the way I plan. I said last week I'd have the pictures up of my pharmacy but I never managed it...... Oh Well that's just how things go around her I'm always doing six things at once!

I do have good news I've taken photos of the pharmacy and a new house. Both have new pages here on the blog. I've been creating a few more pages here and there and as soon as everything is ready I'll add the links on here. I've also finished my very last set of Victorian figures for this year no more till spring. I've also managed to set up a medieval diorama so even more picture to take this week. Victorian Pharmacy

Here's a quick sneak peek at my latest project. I've almost finished I've just got to do the wallpaper for the attic and take some photo's so I should be able to show off the entire building tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

This is the main counter of my Victorian Pharmacy, fully stocked downstairs the upstairs has a doctors consulting room including a dentist chair.

I will be selling this building at the end of November.

This week I have a few updates to share the first one is a new Tudor / Medieval building. This combination of castle tower with Tudor extension is common of medieval style manor houses.

I thought I'd just give you all a preview of one of my current projects. Based on a house design by MacGayver I have slightly enlarged his original plans to create a Gothic Horror Mansion.

As a child I enjoyed watching repeats of two American Tv series called The Adams Family and The Munsters. This house design I thought would be ideal to base a copy of these tv houses on complete with spooky family.

Here is a quick picture of the house so far. Most of the building construction is complete.

I have a couple of items to share with you all this weekend, as usual I've had a busy time working on several projects at once. It often seams like the only chance I get to update the blog is late in the evening when the house has quietened down and I've had to pack up my saw and drill!

So this weeks first offering is a small Victorian Bridal Shop. Created for Victoria a fellow Playmobil collector, the Bride in the shop is actually based on her original wedding gown. Designed to match the other small shops I've created it is also fitted with a push on light in the ceiling.

Royal Carriage

I'm often asked if I will do requests, yes I do. I often work on commissions for people all you need to do is email me with an idea and I'll let you know if I can do it.

One such request was for a Royal Carriage to be used in a photo story. I've had to work to a deadline on this so everything else has been put aside to get it finished on time.

Based on Queen Victoria's carriage it comes with out riders and a footman as well as the driver. The interior has been lined with burgundy and gold material and has a carpeted floor.

Chester Row

Chester Row is based on the Tudor shops of Eastgate and Bridge Streets in the English town of Chester. A wonderful city to visit full of ancient history from the Roman walled city to Medieval buildings.

If you've had a chance to look around my ever growing blog sites you can tell I love Playmobil. Building , decorating and dressing up the figures. I just love to create new things and I've found Playmobil such a wonderful and versatile toy.

When I was a child I had Lego! I loved Lego I loved it that much I desperately wanted to move onto Meccano so I could make things that moved and to make bigger buildings. It was not meant to be. As I grew up I discovered computers ahhh the ZX Spectrum...... and that was the end of my building phase. Now I rediscovered the yen to build bigger and better and I love it, but I've lost all my spare time.

There is just not enough time for it all. I'm often asked how do I manage it to create all this stuff so quickly. It's because I don't do anything else. I have become Playmobil obsessed.It's that bad I lie in bed thinking of new building designs and different ways of making things. I've become a junkie I can't get enough.

A friend recently asked if I could do some wallpapers for her, which I gladly said yes to, but the hours and hours I've spent doing it, looking for new designs making up the large image sheets adding borders, changing colours. Phew I'm so glad it's done now, it's just one of those jobs that seams to take forever to do, but I'm happy to do this for my friends. I thought I'd have finished my Tudor shops by now, all I've got to do is the signs, but as always it's a bigger job than I thought, I've had to paint the signs and make up my own pictures for it, even cut up a pig!

I've had some more great news, I've had several more commissions this week, including a royal carriage, a bridal shop, a new and improved Claridges and a chocolate shop as well as some custom figures. To which I've said yes of course because I DO love to do them, but I've also got the row of shops to finish, a Tudor tower to furnish and decorate and furnish a Gothic horror mansion. Oh and sails for a ship. AHHHHHHHH........ will it never end? (I am laughing when I say this)

So as you can tell I'm usually working on half a dozen or more projects at once. Some times I finish several close together so I tend to take photos all at the same time. That way I can catch the good weather and save on time. This is why every now and again I can put lots of finished items on the blog altogether, not because I'm a superwoman and have had them all built in a week. (Oh I wish!) It's just good planning.

I still haven't finished putting up pictures of all my completed work, I have loads of photos to sort through and post and I like to tweak the blog every so often but there's NOT ENOUGH TIME!
So please forgive me when some weekends I've nothing to share, it's not because I haven't been working only I've not been working fast enough.

Oh and if your wondering how come I've had the time to write this, it's because I'm eating my dinner and waiting for my hair to dye at the same time. What can I say I'm a woman and I can multitask!

Before I forget there will be a few photos later today, I hate to disappoint my visitors.

Luxury Dining Tables

After visitng the Dolls House Show last weekend I decided to do a couple of luxury dining tables.

Each set comes complete with large banquet table, four chairs, serving trolley, candelarbra and real china dishes with gold cutlery.

The first table is set with a minture dinner for four served with a cake for dessert.

The second table is set with a selection of minature deserts.

Le thème fédérateur de ce rassemblement est l’histoire, et chaque scène sera prétexte au voyage à travers le temps dans des maquettes de rêve : Exposition Universelle de 1900, Les Spartiates, bataille de Waterloo, Village d’Asterix, Guerres Zoulous, Le concert live des années 2010, Jeanne d'Arc, les Pirates...

Ce type de rassemblement s’est rarement produit en île de France aussi près de Paris. C’est l’occasion de découvrir la créativité de ces artistes qui marient avec bonheur toutes les pièces des jouets Playmobils©, parfois vieilles de 35 ans, avec des décors, des aménagements originaux, des centaines de figurines accessoirisées, retouchées et même modifiées.

Des stands de vente seront présents à des prix attractifs pour satisfaire petits et grands, les yeux remplis de tous les modèles exposés, pour compléter sa collection de boites rares ou anciennes, ou simplement une bonne occasion de préparer ses cadeaux de Noël et de faire plaisir.

D’autres animations se dérouleront pendant ce rassemblement : tombola, exposition de photographies, rencontres surprises, petite restauration et buvette.

Victorian Carriages

A couple of months ago a friend asked me if I could customise a carriage for him, unfortunately at the time I didn't have any I could use.This past month I've managed to get hold of one. I did the conversion as you've seen with the Ripper figures. It came out so well and I enjoyed doing it as a change from the buildings I was working on. I got the bug and ended up buying several more so I now have a fleet of carriages!

I can't decide which colour I like the best.

I've been away for the weekend and while rushing about I stopped off at a Dolls House Fair. It was packed out and I spent several hours and lots of money on some new bits and pieces for my upcoming projects. There were some wonderful dolls houses there I'd loved to have had a couple but they were so expensive! Beautiful craftsmanship and they've given me an idea for another Tudor style building. I'm working on a row of shops, a tower and a Victorian house at the moment but after that I'll try this new design.

I've had several emails this week asking if I'm going to be doing any more Victorian figures, yes I am. I needed some things from the show and I'm waiting for a few more things so hopefully I should have some more figures available at the start of October. I've managed to get hold of the new skirt design so I'll have some new style figures as well as the old ones.

Harrods Is Finished

Well here are the pictures of Harrods at last and I've had a lot of trouble trying to take them. The weather is turning here and I've had to dodge showers to try and take photos over the last few days.

As I've said I got the idea to create Harrods from the colour scheme I used on Claridges which turned out so nice I just had to expand the building. Adding a food hall and a ladies and gentleman's department to the original restaurant I've created this larger building. I've built a central spiral staircase to give a grand feeling to the store in keeping with the stunning original building. To this I've added a large skylight in the dinning room so the staircase can be viewed from above as well as being an attractive feature in the room. I also decided not to fix the large Harrods sign to the roof that way it can turn around to face the viewer.

Harrods Update

A small progress report on Harrods, I've spent the last couple of days working on the roof and the front entrance to the building. After several changes I've managed to get both sorted out.

The inside of the shop is practically finished. I've the main shop sign to create, some smaller internal signs and a few items to make but it's almost done.

I've taken a couple of quick photos just to let you see how it's going. I might be able to unveil the completed shop next week.

Medieval / Tudor Watermill

I'm currently working on a collection of Medieval / Tudor buildings the great Hall being the largest and first piece created. I'm trying to come up with some new and unusual designs. My second building is a watermill which I'm very pleased with it just looks right - if you know what I mean! The waterwheel does go around and it turns the millstone inside.

I'm part way through building a row of shops and I may do a church and a tower as well.

I came across a bundle of dolls houses a few weeks ago as I'm always on the lookout for some thing new to customise. This is the first of these small plastic buildings I'm going to decorate. I'm sure those of you who are familiar with my very early work will recognise this as the very first building I ever customised.

As I had previously done a pair of figures as Don Quixote and his trusted servant Sancho Panza what better than to place them with the windmill!

Hello Folks!

Sorry for not getting around to posting last weekend but it's been all go and I didn't really have any good photos to share. When I last posted about the Tudor Hall I was going to rebuild it after waiting for my parts to dry. So last weekend I built the Hall then I made a decision on how to decorate it so I've had to pull it to bits again...... but it's built now and I'm ready to share my first pictures.

All the actual building work is finished and I've decorated the internal walls. Next job is the furnishings and the extra decorations like banners etc.

As you can see I have created a large downstairs hallway including a priest hole under the stairs with a long gallery above. From the gallery there's access to the central loft.

The left side has the kitchen and store room with the master bedroom and sitting room above.

The right side has the great hall and chapel with the study above.

Harrods & Tudor Hall

I've also done a bit more work on Harrods this week, finishing off the wallpaper and flooring, all done in green and gold. The main staircase has been fitted but I'm now waiting on some parts so I can finish connecting up the top floor.

I made a start yesterday on my Tudor hall. As I've said before I built a large house last year but I've had it dismantled for six months until I had a bit more room. This is a picture of the original, a large "H" shape with a kitchen, hall, bedroom study etc in it.

I've since tweaked the design a little and as usual for me the house has gotten a bit bigger! I've also painted it a slightly different colour and this afternoons job is building it now that the pieces are all dry.

At the same time as working on the hall I'm going to try to build a Tudor mill as well so fingers crossed it will look all right.

Harrods - A Victorian Department Store

Claridges my Victorian restaurant came out so well that I thought of rebuilding it. I just really liked the layout and the colours, but then I had the idea to expand on it and having browsed around on the internet I hit on a great idea. Why not do a department store with a restaurant in it, so I've decided to build a mini Harrods!

This is the start of the building with just the outside painted in a cream stone effect. I've also made a start on some of the shop displays with the Ladies and Gents pictured below.

There's still a lot to be done but I'll add pictures each week as I go along.

Well it might have seamed a while since I've had any thing new to show you, but after the arrival at long last of my parts order, I've managed to finish off one of my current projects.

One of my commissions was for a one story Victorian restaurant and so I have created Claridges. There are a few pictures below and I'm working on the video so you can all have a better look soon.

This months website is the excellent MacGayverPlaymobil site. Normally I have to think what to put about the wonderful sites out there but this is one I don't have any trouble about. Mac's site is a multilingual showcase of delights. Featuring his magnificent custom builds from most of the Playmobil range.

His was one of the very first websites I came across just after buying my original Victorian Mansion. Wow!!!! it was amazing to see what could be done with Playmobil. I can honestly say it was Mac's site that has always inspired me to try customising, his ships and truck conversions are the best I have seen anywhere. One day I hope to be as good.

But Mac is not just talented at these smaller creations he often participates at Playmobil shows creating magnificent dioramas which are also featured on his site. If you want to see the true flexibility of Playmobil I can't think of a better place to visit.

Hi everyone I know I've been quiet this week but I've been busy with my ship auctions and preparing Houghton Hall to ship. It's still not all wrapped up yet about half done.

I'm also working on a Victorian restaurant for my friend Maria ( Hi there!) and a small mansion.

I'm currently researching my next two grand projects a tudor castle style manor house and possibly another super large Victorian mansion the same size as Houghton, but I need to pick the right buildings first and then work out the design converted into Playmobil. I'll let you all know when I've reached a decision.

Houghton Hall Info

Over the past week I have had lots of emails regarding Houghton Hall, these all start off with the same things saying that they want advice on selling their own collection, or wanting to say they would like help customising etc. Yet many of these all end up exactly the same asking how much I spent on building Houghton Hall and how much I sold it for.

I love receiving emails from other collectors and I will try to help out as I can, but I'm fed up with these emails about the Hall. Many have made up excuses just to ask, and when I reply to help them with their problem - but refuse to discus the hall, they turn round and admit they didn't need help.... or want to sell their work...etc and I find this very annoying that people go to all the trouble of lying and making up excuses to badger me about it.

So thank you to the genuine emailers I've enjoyed reading you kind comments.

To those that are just dying to know, yes I have sold Houghton Hall to a private collector.

No I will not discuss how much I sold the Hall for this is between myself and the buyer.

Nor will I discuss costs or what I think the Hall is worth etc.

Please do not ask.

Houghton Hall Is Finished

Well this may come as a surprise but Houghton Hall is finally finished, I have to admit my posts here have been a few days behind the actual building stages simply as I don't have the time to update the blog as often as I like but I did want to share things with you in order.

I now have two pages a " Making Of " page that you will have seen before and " Houghton Hall " page with just photos of the completed mansion for those of you who have been keeping up with the blog already.

I am very pleased to say I have already received offers for Houghton Hall which I will be considering during the week. If you would like to be the new owner of this remarkable and totally unique Palladian style mansion please email me soon before I make my final decision.

Houghton Hall pt14 - Interior Finished!

Yes I think I can finally say the interior is finished. No more new ideas or things to change again -oh am I tempting fate saying that?

Anyway here's the first early shot of the complete building interior.

I hope you can now understand why I had to move the lights around. This is over twice the size of a normal 5300 Victorian Manor. It's about 115cm long by 40cm deep and 70 cm tall and weighs a ton! I know this as I carried it outside to take some photos of the exterior, but as usual it rained so I've not been able to get any better shots yet.

Playmobil Tuning Western is this months website. If you like cowboys then this is the site for you. A French site it has some of the best custom made Western buildings and vehicles I've ever seen. Each building has been specially built and painted with fabulous printed signs. Each one ready to be furnished as you like. I know the creator sometimes sells his work on ebay or you can email him directly for one of his buildings.

This is just a great site to browse around at and get some ideas from or just to marvel at his work. Well worth a visit.

Houghton Hall pt13 - New wallpaper again & the Hallway

I must be giving every one the impression that I'm such a ditherer as I seam to be constantly changing my mind with the rooms in Houghton Hall. I'm not honest it's just that I keep coming up with better ideas - well this one wasn't strictly my idea.

(As a total aside I've just realised it's the 4th and I haven't done my website of the month - I will do tomorrow)

I decided to put a polling question up on Playmofriends forum asking everyone to vote on which rooms they'd like to see most in a mansion. The top pick turned out to be a library, so looking at my house I though I'd just have to add one. The only room that could be changed was the study / games room. It was nice but nothing new. So I've changed the wallpaper again and created a bookcase and here's the result.

I've finally finished everything I wanted to do in the hall and I'm ready to share a few photos. So here's my real labour of love and my favourite room the main hall with grand staircase. I hope you think it's been worth the wait.

Houghton Hall pt11 Bedroom, Bathroom & changes to the Dining room

During last week I did manage to finish off two more rooms, the master bedroom and bathroom.

There's two pictures of the bedroom as the top one was the original but as I had a fit of reworking lots of things yesterday I ended up changing the canopy and adding a lace edge to the chest.

I also tinkered with the dining room again, I know I said it was finished but it is now - I think. So here's a reminder of the original room and what it looks like now with the new curtains and the boxed in dumb waiter.

Mabel Stark - Tiger Trainer

Houghton Hall pt10 Wallpapered Again!

My plan this weekend was to fit the third set of lights that had just arrived on Friday, as I had managed to decorate the top floor during the week (photos on next post - promise) but I wasn't happy with the curtains in the dining room. The red curtains just blended into the wall to much so I took them out and repainted them. While I was sat pondering what they should look like I came to the conclusion I wasn't too sure about the wall paper for the living room, study and music rooms they didn't quite go with the hallway (pictures later).

You see when I started decorating the house I had a choice I could go for the plain or paneled walls that many grand houses have or go for the Victorian style of bright and heavily patterned wallpaper. I originally chose the Victorian style but I now think it's not grand enough for this type of house. So I've changed it all. This meant I spent Friday designing the new papers, then I had to dismantle the top floor to fit them. As I had open access to the middle floor I decided to glue down the carpets. I hadn't bothered until now just in case I needed to make any changes but everything was built so I thought it would be ok. I put the top floor back on fixed all the flooring down and prepared to start on the last set of lights. Oh and I took pictures of the new rooms.

Now the first two sets of lights I used I bought last Christmas but with a bit of searching around I managed to get another set by the same manufacturer. So imagine my surprise when I tacked the lights up to see where to fit them that they didn't match! The first two are a bright blue white the new set yellow white. You might wonder what the difference is but it meant with the new set any white panelling would look sort of cream coloured - a very big no no. So I was left at 1am with lights that didn't match and at that point I gave up for the night.

Saturday I was left with only one option after being unable to get hold of the old batch of lights and that was to take the lights out of the basement and swap them with the new set. With the servant's quarters all being in white it didn't matter if the light was not pure white, in fact it looks like they've got cheap gas lights instead now. So down came the first two floors so I could work on the lowest ceiling. Boy did I regret having stuck down all the edge to edge carpets and gluing the top of the dumb waiter in place! Having exchanged the light sets over I rebuilt the house again, and fitted the last set of lights into the false ceiling on every room apart from the hallway and there went my Saturday.

Houghton hall pt9 Revamped Dining Room

I sat back last night having updated the Houghton Hall page and the main blog looking at the dining room pictures and decided I just didn't like it. The two large cupboards at the back just didn't go so I've decorate more cabinets and reshot the pictures. Here is the final (I hope!) version of the dining room. More on the main page.

Victorian Figures For Karim

I was sent some playmobil ladies last week by Karim, a fellow collector and asked if I could do them up a little and create a few gentlemen to go with them.

I've known Karim for a few years now and it was he who started me off with the idea of YouTube videos and introduced me to Playmofriends forum. So I was glad to help out. Karim creates wonderfully detailed story videos featuring stunning Victorian Mansions etc. He's currently working on an international story featuring playmobil figures from fellow collectors from around the world, including my Miss Tate I mention before. Hopefully I'll be able to add a link here to his wonderful story in a few months time.

Houghton Hall pt8

The dining room is the last room on the second floor and it's pretty much finished, I managed to sort out the large wall mirror today as well as making a start on the roof. I've built the domes and cut up the roof edging to fit all around. I might make a start on the decorations and balustrades tomorrow if I feel up to it, or I might take a break and work on a few figures instead.

Houghton Hall pt7

When I took the pictures last week of the ground floor I forgot to take an overall picture so that's the first thing I've got to show you all this week. It's small on the blog but if you click on it, you'll see a bigger version.

The carpets I ordered have arrived so I've been able to finish off a few more rooms this week. I've also been working on some of the roof parts which has taken me the best part of today to carve out some fret work, something to share in a few weeks when the roof is done. I've had to jump ahead a few jobs as I'm waiting for a third light set before I can do the next ceiling.

These are the first few rooms on the second / middle floor. The colour has come out a little odd as the living room is white with gold flowers on the wall, oh well you get the idea.

This is the study / games room to the right of the living room. Pretty much finished I just want to sort out a large picture for the left wall.

I should be able to add pictures of the dinning room tomorrow as it's almost finished and then that's the second floor done. The only other room to show you is the entrance hall but I want to save that for a while as it's pretty spiffy and very unusual.
